Do I need previous experience?

You don’t need any previous experience. We will train you for the rafting and guide you through all the activities we do. We are experts with years of experience!

Is there an age restriction?

We have had children from 10 years old to adults that only there soul can tell us their age. Our activities have the highest safety standards, and for the most complex parts of the river, we have optional activities such as trekking and horse back riding.

What kind of clothing do I need?

Once you book your trip we will send you an information package with all the gear you need for your trip, if you need it ahead of time please write to info@futaleufuadventure.com and we will be happy to send it to you.

If I have dietary restrictions, are there any options for me?

Yes. If you are vegetarian, vegan or celiac (or if you have any other restriction in your diet) we can prepare a special menu for you. All you need to do is put in a request as soon as you sign up for your trip.

Will I have access to showers during the trip? Do I need a towel?

Yes, 7 of the 8 days of our trip you will have a shower with hot water. Due to the contamination created by washing towels, we have asked our guest to bring his or her own.

Will I have a chance to charge my phone or computer?

Our trip is a invitation to connect with nature and enjoy a unique experience, so we don’t have a place to charge your cell phone or computer. Nevertheless, we will have two opportunities during the trip to charge our camera batteries.

How much time do we spend driving?

Are there dangerous animals? Do I need insect repellant for mosquitos?

We have no dangerous animals, no need to worry!. Although very rare, you may bring insect repellent in case mosquitos were to appear.

Is Chile a safe country?

Chile is one of the safest countries in the Americas.

What is the temperature in Futaleufu?

Futaleufú has a microclimate, which makes the weather forecast very unpredictable. However, gernerally the weather it’s ideal for our activities gving us a mix of sunny and cloudy days. Please note that this is Patagonia, so getting some rain is not unusal. Temperature ranges from 15 to 30 Celsius (50 – 60 Fahrenheit), while river temperature ranges from 10 to 15 Celsius (59 – 86 Fahrenheit).

Will I have reception for my cell phone?

You will have coverage in Puerto Montt (depending on your service provider). Once we start traveling from Chaiten to Futaleufu (and for the rest of the trip) you will loose reception.

Will I have access to ATM machine?

Both at the beginning and at the end of our trip, you will have access to ATM machines.

How much tip should I give?

Tipping is optional and it goes in line with the satisfaction you have had on your trip and the service provided by our team. On this kind of trip the gratuities are between eight and ten percent of the trip cost.

Do I need an insurance?

Yes, you do need an insurance. We recommend Global Rescue www.globalrescue.com
